Just like Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook, Twitter is now currently piloting a new ‘Shoppable’ feature on the platform.
A small handful of brands in the US are currently testing the new feature that allows consumers to instantly shop goods and products in a carousel-like format, directly from a brands main Twitter profile. Limited to a small selection of US brands only at the moment and on iOS devices, this new feature is testing the success of Shoppable profiles for consumers as well as being an additional revenue stream for Twitter itself.
“People talk about products on Twitter everyday, so we’re excited about how this early exploration of the Shop Module can build a bridge between people talking about and discovering products on Twitter to actually purchasing them,” Twitter says.
It hasn’t been disclosed yet if or when this feature will arrive in the UK, but it is one we want to keep an eye on for sure.
