Finally an event that many can get excited about again is coming… UEFA 2021! (Well, Euro 2020 but you know… a slight delay). But what is exciting about this year’s events is that they have teamed up with TikTok as one of their biggest sponsors.
Using UCG content interspersed with football gameplay in the advert, the partnership focuses on the strapline ‘Where fans play’, meaning that they want to bring everyone in to enjoy this major event.
The global campaign will focus on key markets in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and Germany, Turkey, MENA and Japan, and includes a station takeover in Munich and giant OOH sites in St Petersburg and Moscow.
What is exciting for us is to see how social media channels are becoming key sponsors across the globe, from TV advertising to big experiential activations. Social Media is more than just being on your phone in your hand, it’s about being a part of something bigger around you, bringing everyone into the play, together.
