What we want to share is the amazing viral social activity that has been spreading around the world of social media, helping everyone get through this challenging time and keep everyone connected in social isolation and whilst having to social distance from everyone right now.
Below are our favourite viral social pieces (so far) we have been loving these past couple of weeks.
Enjoy, we hope these make you smile.[/xen_text][xen_text text_color=”text-color-4″ text_style=”p-style-bold”]

SUPPORTING NHS WORKERS
First and foremost, we are thankful for all those who are currently under immense pressure to control this outbreak going on. During this time, it is wonderful to see brands acknowledging this too and giving back to those on the front line, for example, Pret.
Pret led the way by giving back to NHS workers, offering free hot drinks which was shared across social, gaining them lots of praise for this kind gesture. You can see the post here.
(Sadly restaurants have had to temporarily close now). [/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
THE BODY COACH BECOMES EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE PE TEACHER
With schools now closed, parents are now playing the role of teacher too at home, but Joe Wicks, also known as The Body Coach, has stepped up to save dreaded PE lessons by doing live lessons on his YouTube channel – P.E with Joe.
On his first morning, he had over 1m participants join him from their homes to take part in his 9am class, including many influencers and the likes of Mark Cavendish and his children. Late for class? You can watch it again here.
He’s also doing live classes for ‘seniors and the elderly’, and the ‘young at heart’ are loving him already, sitting on their chairs doing leg exercises. We salute you Joe!
Want to join him for a workout each day? Subscribe to his YouTube channel here.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
LIVE CONCERTS AT HOME
Mass gatherings have been put on hold, so the likes of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, John Legend and Yungblood brought their music to our homes by live streaming across Instagram and YouTube. God bless live streaming!

BECOME A PRO DANCER
Strictly Come Dancing professionals have been sharing with their followers on Instagram, Twitter and YouTube the basics to some of their famous dance routines. Oti Mabuse (also known for being on BBC ONE’s The Greatest Dancer), taught us how to salsa across our living rooms, whilst Dianne Buswell (who was famously partnered with YouTube and Influencer star Joe Sugg) has started a dance tutorial series on her IGTV. Talk about great workouts and getting your endorphins going!
Want to join in? Check out Dianne Buswell’s IGTV here and Oti Mabuse’s salsa lesson here – good luck![/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
REINVENTING SOME REWIND CLASSICS
Remember Jojo’s famous ‘Leave (Get Out)’ song from 2004? Well, she’s remixed it completely and changed the lyrics to be all about today’s current events, encouraging everyone to stay at home and self isolate. The new track ‘Chill (Stay In)’ hopefully will connect with her young adult/teen audiences, she can pass on a direct message to them about the importance of staying in, right now. Sing along here.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1612953232484-1d1e4685-1dda-4″ include=”12034,12033,12042,12043″][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES
Doctor’s on social media are using their platforms to share valuable information which is appreciated during this time. From getting out to get some fresh air to the latest information that is happening in hospital wards, symptoms to be aware of and tips on how to deal with anxiety, they are our heroes right now and we praise them. Social media may get bad press, but right now, we couldn’t be more grateful to have it.
Dr. Doiereann O’Leary checks in with her followers every day, sharing the latest information, but also her personal views on the situation and what she is doing to help stop the spread. Give her a follow here to keep up to date with her information.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
#WFH vs PETS
Many are now working from home, but who also live at home and usually have run of the house? Pets! Cats and dogs, parrots and tortoises are becoming famous across social media as many share the trials and tribulations of trying to work whilst a cat may be sitting on your keyboard or a dog longingly wishing someone would play with them. Want a good laugh? Check out the #WFH hashtag on instagram to see many new keyboard warriors of the furry kind.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
PLAYING FROM THE ROOFTOPS
When Italy went into lockdown, many took to their balconies to share the joy of music with their neighbours. From beautiful operatic ballards to moving piano pieces, they have been wonderful to watch them go viral so others can experience the little bit of joy these musicians have brought to their neighbourhoods. Be prepared to shed a tear to this beautiful Titanic rendition caught on camera – we love it. Enjoy here.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
#ISTAYHOMEFOR
Celebrities across the globe are joining forces together (in their own homes) by sharing the hashtag #IStayHomeFor, sharing who and why they are remaining at home and in self isolation. David Beckham, Sam Smith and Elton John are just a few who have shared their posts for this trend, started by the Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon.
We fully support all those sharing with this hashtag and praise those with a lot of influence for sharing this important message further.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]
HUMAN HUNGRY HIPPOS
Whilst we may be in self isolation, care homes and community centres are also locked down at the moment, protecting the most vulnerable from. However, the older generation are getting on with looking after themselves and being cared for whilst also still having a laugh.
One story is about three grandmothers who are self isolating together, sharing their priorities with BBC Breakfast. They are focusing on things like drinking wine and having separate rooms in case they annoy each other – we like their thinking! Watch what they’re doing here for some tips.
Human hungry hippos – bring it on! A care home in Wales brought this game to life with their elderly residents and shared for all to enjoy on social media. We love this idea and are fully onboard with this. The residents laughs are infectious (excuse the pun), and makes us want to set up our own game once we are back in the office. Enjoy the fun here.[/xen_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][vc_media_grid element_width=”3″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1612953232492-e6c53187-8dfc-8″ include=”12049,12048,12047,12046″][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][xen_text text_style=”p-style-medium”]Social media is an incredibly powerful tool, bringing together people across the globe, and right now, it is doing just that. When many feel alone, social media is a reminder that we are all in this together.
Stay safe, wash your hands, see you soon.[/xen_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
