Launching on the 30th August, Instagram are replacing their Stories link swipe up feature with Stickers. These stickers will still function in the same way swipe up links currently do, but allow more control for the creator on where they can place their link, size and format.
Although this feature is currently only available for verified or accounts over 10k followers, this feature is a step towards allowing content creators to share links with their followers with information/products that their audiences will love.
Instagram says that for now, only people who had swipe up privileges will receive the sticker option, but that it’s “still evaluating” rolling it out to more users. This update will “help us determine whether it’s the right decision before expanding access to more people,” a spokesperson for Instagram has said.
Will you be testing the new Sticker function? We certainly will be!
