Instagram currently does not allow users to upload posts, stories or IGTV videos via desktop, which is not the most useful for us social media marketers.
According to app research Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is now testing options to upload organic feed posts from our computers, including all the standard features you normally do when you upload via your mobile device, such as image formatting tools and filters.
It’s clear that Instagram is slowly improving the way we use Instagram on our computers, as last year we were able to start watching live streams via the desktop app
However Instagram is only testing for feed posts, and we still do not know when we will be able to upload stories and IGTV’s. It definitely would be helpful for us social media marketers, so let’s hope Instagram start making changes soon.
