Instagram Helps Protect Users From Online Abuse | Vouch Global

Instagram is introducing harsher penalties to protect users from online bullying and abuse. This has come into action following the abuse the England football team received during the Euros 2020.

Now Instagram is going to expand the roll out of its Limits options, which enables users to temporarily limit unwanted comments and messages. The social media platform will recommend accounts that you may want to limit based on their activity, allowing users to hide interactions from the profiles you select. This limit option is now available worldwide.

Instagram is also trying to stop abusive behaviour by sending strong warning messages to users who attempt to post comments that Instagram believes is abusive or offensive. This warning message includes explaining that posting abusive comments could result in the users account getting deleted.

Hopefully these new updates will make users think twice before posting an offensive comment!
