We’ve all been spending more time indoors since the first lockdown, which has helped the popularity of podcasts go from strength to strength.
Whether it’s educational, inspiring or just for fun, podcasts are a great way to pass the time and genuinely learn new things.
So it comes as no surprise that Facebook is jumping on the bandwagon. Starting off with a small group of creators at first, the social media giant announced that they will be launching the ability to create and discover new podcasts.
Usually the 170 million people who like podcast pages and the 35 million members of podcast related fan groups would have to leave the app to listen, but soon they will be able to listen to the podcasts within the Facebook app itself.
Keeping users within the app is useful as it means users will be able to comment and recommend podcasts to others more easily, increasing the overall reach and engagement.
