TikTok Adds Auto-Captions

TikTok Adds Auto-Captions

With the new addition of automated captions, TikTok is taking steps to improve accessibility on the platform.

When creators post a video of themselves speaking, TikTok will automatically provide subtitles so users who are hard-of-hearing can enjoy the content.

This will also help boost engagement for TikTok creators, as studies show that subtitles on videos increase the view time and boosts responsiveness.

Instagram has quickly jumped on the band-wagon and is developing auto-captions for IGTV and Instagram reels.

With more social platforms adding auto-captions, this opens up a whole new opportunity for more people to enjoy, engage and socialise within the apps.
